WINDOWS 7 DEPLOYMENT
We just replaced 1/3 of the active PC's for a Chicagoland Municipality. Very smooth deployment, very few compatibility problems and the few we found were easily resolved!
iPhone Conversion
An existing customer of ours deployed (5) iPhones and then took their existing blackberries and gave them to others within the organization. We had no problem integrating a "mixed" environment of iPhones and Blackberries.
SALES CENTER FOR NEW CONDO CONSTRUCTION
We are deploying (9) PCs for the Leasing center (all other other technology such as printers, switches, firewall, etc), (2) guard desks connected to video cameras, and (2) business centers with (5) Macs and (5) PCs and shared printers. Additionally, since space was at a premium, all email and file servers will be hosted offsite in our data centers minimizing space used as well as reducing upfront captial.
HOSTED SERVER (PCS HostIT - Application Server)
A new customer with a seasonable business came to us with a need to have a server online for only (7) months of the year. They could not afford a dedicated server, so they will use one of our servers in our data center to host their information, and only pay for the months it is online!
SMALL BUSINESS REHAB PROJECT
A new customer came to us with an 8 year old, failing, server and 5 workstations (all 5 over years old). We managed to get them financing for a new server, new workstations, and updated software - all for a low monthly payment. This allowed them to get current while not killing their cash flow.
WHERE DID MY DATA GO?
We recently deployed PCS StoreIT (online data backup service) on a customer and within 2 days their laptop was stolen. No problem! Once we got them a new laptop, we were able to restore all their data quick and easy!
REMOVED SPYWARE FROM A HOME MACHINE
In this all to common situation, we were asked to find out why this home machine was "really slow" and why there were "lots of popups" suddenly. Low and behold, the machine was completely infested with spyware.
STOP THE SPAM!!!
This client was getting over 1,000 spam PER DAY just for a single user!! Once we added PCS FilterIT (antispam and antivirus email filtering) for them, this dropped to 10 day. After we showed them how to train the filter even more, it dropped to 1-2 per day. Not bad!
RECOVER FAILED RACK FULL OF SERVERS
This client came to use because their existing provider was "too busy" to come back into town and determine why their ENTIRE RACK of servers (7) were no longer responding. This was a BUSINESS CRITICAL outage and it was going to take the provider 6 days to come back. We jumped in and within a day had most severs partially operational and soon had everything operational. By the end of the week the servers were stable and operational. Months/Years of neglect for basic preventative maintenance were to blame for this outage - completely preventable. In the future we will deploy PCS StoreIT (their backup tape drives have not worked in almost a YEAR! So they had NO data backups at all) and PCS FilterIT (to reduce the spam overload they are getting).
BLACKBERRY PILOT PROGRAM - MAJOR HIGH TECH MANUFACTURER
In this project PCS International has spent almost a year working with the in-house IT Staff to evaluate PDA devices. After the Blackberry device was selected for evaluation, we assisted with the procedures, documentation, infrastructure setup, and deployment of these units. During the pilot we will handle all support of the units including survey of the customer experience. Once done, we will prepare a management report to evaluate the experience from all angles so that the technology management committee can make an informed decision about what to deploy ongoing and what the overall lifecycle costs will look like.
SERVER FARM UPDATE - 70 USER LAW FIRM
This law firm has a lot of technology, but as they have grown there hasn't been an overall plan in place to best use their technology. That's where PCS International steps in. Using a combination of new servers, rebuilt servers, and re-tasked servers we will be giving the entire infrastruture a complete make-over and set the stage for their growth over the next 2-4 years.
OPEN REMOTE SALES OFFICE - BILLION DOLLAR DEVELOPMENT FIRM
We went to Waikiki, Hawaii to setup all the technology needs for this small sales center which will be used by a premier real estate developer to sell one of their developments. We took care of every element of the technology from workstations and servers to coordination of the audio visual, phone, and telecom vendors. Complete "technology general contractors" in this situation, we even helped get the power turned on a week early!
